The community of Stonewater in Cape Coral

Stonewater is a residential community in North East Cape Coral designed by Windham Development Inc.  The lot it will occupy consists of 201 acres of former mining land at the intersection of Tropicana Parkway and Nelson Road. There are three large lakes on the property. Much of the development space is designed for outdoor recreation. A majority of the homes will have lake views. The name Stonewater was also applied to a similar development in Northville Michigan by the same builder. Stonewater in Cape Coral is scheduled to finish construction in December of 2017.

Location

The building plot is just East of Mariner High School and the Northwest Regional Library. The development is conveniently located near the Pine Island corridor. The community has 10 minute driving access to The North Point Shopping Center. The shopping center includes many essential businesses like Publix, Target, Lowe’s, and CVS. There are several restaurants including Panera Bread, Chik-Fil-A, and Olive Garden.

The Northwest Regional Library is within 20 minutes walking distance of the community. The neighborhood is directly parallel to Mariner High School. Walking time to Mariner High School is approximately 10 minutes. Several other schools are within 5 miles of the community, including Mariner Middle School.

Attractions

Four Mile Cove park is a 20 minute drive from Stonewater in Cape Coral. The park has a shaded wildlife walk and areas to go kayaking. The park is a haven for species like pelicans, manatees and barn owls. The Shell Factory is 10 miles to the North East and is an interactive place for adults and children to learn about South West Florida and the ocean.

Amenities

Seventy percent of the homes will have lake views. All the homes will be able to enjoy the preserved landscape. The proximity to shopping, restaurants, schools and the beach make the location desirable. Two recreation centers will be built within the community.

Construction

Approximately 337 single-family homes will be constructed around the three lakes.  A bald eagle’s nest currently resides on the preserve. It will not be disturbed in the construction process.
